- Wisconsin tight end Travis Beckham did 28 bench reps and subsequently was tied for best among his position. Beckham was one of the most highly recruited linebackers coming out of high school but switched to tight end at Wisky and was productive despite battling injuries. If the rest of his combine workout goes well, look for Beckham to make a push to be the first tight end selected in the draft, ahead of Oklahoma State’s Brandon Pettigrew, who managed 22 bench reps.
- Texas Tech guard Louis Vasquez did a whopping 39 bench reps, 5 more than the nearest competitor.
- Penn State left tackle Gerald Cadogan ran the 40-yard dash in 5.12 seconds. Cadogan, a 2-year starter at Penn State and a natural pass blocker who took over for top 10 pick Levi Brown, stands to vault up NFL draft boards if the rest of his combine goes well.
