McGinest out six weeks

Cleveland Browns LB Willie McGinest will be out at least six weeks following back surgery scheduled for Thursday, according to ESPN.com.

After surgery, McGinest will have one week of rest, followed by rehab and a re-evaluation by the medical staff in six weeks, head coach Romeo Crennel said.

“He’s going to come back and we’re going to try to get him ready to play the rest of the season,” Crennel was quoted on espn.com.

“Backs are backs and they are fickle sometimes. But after the first six weeks we’ll see how the rehab is going and that will be an indicator as how soon he’ll be back.”
